Automating processes plays an important role in the modern logistics world. The infrastructure at C. van den Heuvel & Zn. BV makes our organization effective and increases delivery reliability towards you and your customer. C. van den Heuvel & Zn. B.V. follows the latest developments closely and is constantly looking for optimization of systems in order to provide you with the best possible logistics information.

EDI

We use an EDI system for this. EDI stands for “Electronic Data Interchange” and means the electronic exchange of information between parties in the form of structured messages. This form of communication offers many benefits for everyone. The information transfer is reliable, independent and ensures less work within your company. It saves you a lot of time and avoids all the errors associated with manual data entry.

Status web
We use the EDI program Statusweb. You can track your shipments via our shipment information system. You can request information about your shipment using the link below. You have received a user name, login code and password for this.

Logistics Manager System
The Logistic Manager System (LM), which is the foundation of our information system, guarantees optimal planning, administration and invoicing. Furthermore, LM can be expanded with Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) which generate a digital signature upon delivery of your shipment to the customer.
The shipping documents can be found and retrieved quickly and easily in the digital archive. It is also possible for the client to log into our system and enter shipments and print shipping documents and stickers, in short, to prepare the shipment completely for transport.

Types of EDI

Web EDI
EDI by email
Integrated EDI

WEB EDI:

Web EDI works over the Internet. You can pass on your shipments to us via an internet program. These shipments are stored on a central server and then sent to our system via an EDI connection and processed automatically. No investments necessary and no additional IT knowledge required.

EDI by email:

Your employees send the shipment details to us in a file with a standard format via e-mail. Our employees import this data into our system. This form of EDI requires a relatively small investment and some IT knowledge to set it up.

Integrated EDI:

With integrated EDI systems, the EDI messages are exchanged directly between your system and the Van den Heuvel system. Virtually no human intervention is required to minimize the risk of errors. There is an international standard (EDIFACT) for message formatting for this type of EDI. This form of EDI requires an investment that you earn back relatively quick with larger numbers of shipments. This also requires more IT knowledge in your company.
